Welcome, I am Aaron Fallahi, a US Air Force veteran and lifelong resident of Lexington, Kentucky. I humbly ask for your vote for Fayette County District Court Judge in the 2nd Division.

As many others in our community, I waited tables for years, served in the US military, and worked in construction. I came to the practice of law a bit later in life and consider myself to be a blue-collar worker at heart.

I bring my years of customer service experience working with the public to the practice of law. I understand that legal matters are almost always nerve-racking endeavors and therefore I strive to treat everyone with the respect and care with which I would hope to receive. If entrusted by the people of Fayette County to sit on the bench I will work first and foremost to ensure that each and every individual is afforded dignity and equality before the law.
  • It is rarely a good day when a citizen must step into the courthouse. As previously noted, I will ensure that all individuals are treated with respect and dignity before the law, whether plaintiff, defendant, victim, petitioner, or respondent, represented by counsel or proceeding pro se. A Judge's work is not to practice the case, but rather to guarantee procedural safeguards within our legal framework and to weigh the legal arguments of the participants. If permitted to sit as Judge by the trust of the residents of Fayette County, I will aspire every day to provide evenhanded Justice for all.
  • Everyone can make a mistake from time to time. It should not define you. I believe that the justice system should work to improve lives rather than simply punish. I also believe that certain factors increase the likelihood of future criminality: such as drug addiction, mental health concerns, and economic hopelessness; idle hands are the devil's playground.

As such as a general scheme:

1st time non-violent offenders I am inclined toward unsupervised probation. 2nd offense in a short time - probation supervised for employment, counseling as appropriate, and community service. 3rd offense in a short time may tend to indicate that the wrong lessons are being learned and service of time may be beneficial.

    Consistency for similar history
  • I will work to reinvigorate the community service option for criminal sentencing of individuals convicted of misdemeanor offenses. Community service is an evidence-based practice that is shown to reduce recidivism. A few of the numerous benefits of the program include nurturing of pride in oneself and the community through accountability and active participation in completion of established goals thus also improving resilience and reducing costs of incarceration while providing real-world value. Unfortunately, following Covid social distancing the program largely dissolved as community opportunities disappeared. I will strive to work with qualified non-profit organizations and probation & parole to revitalize a flourishing program.
I am passionate to make a positive impact for individuals and the community as a whole through reducing recidivism and redirecting potential by revival of the community service program.
