Campaign website

Guckian's campaign website stated the following:

Help Center

The Help Center will serve as a resource and a connection point for our citizens who need assistance cutting through bureaucratic channels and getting answers to their questions.

Small Business

Small business, the backbone of Rhode Island’s economy, has been crushed by COVID, supply chain issues, employee shortages, and inflation. We need a strong, vocal leader who will work with our business and community leaders and elected officials to bolster small businesses. No small business owner should be faced with making the tough decision to close one of their locations because they can’t find employees.

Elder Care

Our seniors helped paved the way for our success. It is our responsibility to make sure that they have the comprehensive services they deserve. I understand how stressful it can be to care for aging loved ones. My parents and I assisted my late grandmother, and I also helped my late mother-in-law.

Suffice it to say, I have experienced the same challenges that so many Rhode Island families face. Under ordinary circumstances, it is difficult to juggle work, and caring for children and aging loved ones, but COVID and inflation have escalated an already stressful situation.

As your next lieutenant governor, I will work with senior advocates, elected officials, residents, community leaders, and stakeholders to ensure that our seniors and their families have the support and comprehensive services they need to greet each new day with promise. In the coming years, it is estimated that 1 in 4 Rhode Islanders will be 65+. With our elder population increasing, the time to take action is now. We owe it to our seniors and their families.

Health Care

Aaron is truly passionate about this issue, as it is one that impacts so many people all over the world.

Emergency Management

As we have been dealing with COVID for the past two years, we have all gained greater awareness of the importance of emergency preparedness. I will utilize my years of experience as a staff member in the governor’s office to make certain that our state is well prepared for an emergency of any kind. I saw the challenges of responding to blizzards, hurricanes, floods, H1N1 and the Station Nightclub Fire. The knowledge I gained will enable me to work with the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency and contribute to our state’s collective efforts to respond to emergencies.

Individuals

We will work with individuals to determine the ownership of issues with time to resolve, issue status and history to transform government policy.[2]
