Opposition
Two of the five seats on the Pasco Board of Directors were up for at-large general election on November 3, 2015. Positions 1 and 2 were on the ballot.
Position 1 incumbent Scott Lehrman and Position 2 incumbent Ryan Brault ran for re-election. Brault was defeated by challenger Aaron Richardson in the general election. Lehrman was running unopposed for the Position 1 seat until Kathleen Barton, a former Pasco teacher, announced she would run against him. Franklin County, "Aaron Richardson," June 3, 2015 |
“ | As a pediatrician and father of five, I understand the needs of children. With patients at every school in Pasco, I am highly invested in our entire community. Every child is important and unique. I am passionate about the power of education to inspire every child to reach their full potential and find happiness and success in life. My children attend Pasco schools. We love to support school events and celebrate the accomplishments of students.
One of my greatest joys is meeting with parents to discuss the needs of their children. As a fluent Spanish speaker I work regularly with English language learners. I am excited to help unite our community by fostering cooperation, transparency, and excellence. As a school board member I will: work tirelessly to seek widespread public input and collaboration, encourage transparency through open discussion and debate about important issues in public meetings, reach out to teachers for their ideas, concerns, and feedback, strive to increase the number and rigor of STEM and other advanced course offerings, promote greater flexibility to better meet individual needs, and increase services for special needs children. I look forward to serving Pasco in this capacity.[6] |
