Sharpe graduated from Northeast High School in 1987. His professional experience includes the following:

- 1990-2000: Branch manager, Southeast Bank[1]

The city of St. Petersburg, Florida, held elections for city council on November 3, 2015. A primary election took place on August 25, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was June 22, 2015. Four of the eight city council seats were up for election. In the District 7 primary, Lisa Wheeler-Bowman and Winthrop “Will” Newton advanced past Sheila Scott Griffin, Aaron Sharpe and Elvert Lewis Stephens.[4] Wheeler-Bowman defeated Newton in the general election. Incumbent Wengay M. "Newt" Newton Sr. did not run for re-election.[5]
