I’m someone who is deeply passionate about making a positive impact in my community. With a background in the military, I’ve dedicated myself to both my professional work and public service. Currently, I’m running for City Council because I believe in the power of local government to address the issues that matter most to our residents-whether it’s improving public services, supporting local businesses, or ensuring that our community is a place where everyone can thrive.

Beyond my professional life, I’ve been involved in several community initiatives, particularly the Chamber of Commerce and Hughson Has Heart. I find great fulfillment in working with others to solve problems and create lasting change.

I’m also a firm believer in transparency, accountability, and collaboration. I think it’s essential to listen to the voices of those I serve and to work together to find solutions that benefit everyone.

In my free time, I enjoy visiting local shops and attending fairs and events that have local vendors, which helps me stay grounded and connected to the community in a more personal way. Overall, I’m committed to serving my community with integrity, compassion and a forward-thinking approach
  • Championing Community Voices: Consistently prioritize listening to and acting on the needs of the community through town halls, open forums or direct engagements with the goal to ensure that every voice is heard and every concern addressed. This focus on transparency and communication is something I want voters to remember about my time in office.
  • Driving Economic Growth: Working tirelessly to boost our local economy by supporting small businesses, attracting new investments and creating jobs. My efforts will be geared towards building a sustainable economic environment that benefits everyone and this commitment to economic development is a key message of my campaign.
  • Enhancing Public Services: Improving our city’s infrastructure and pubic service will be a cornerstone of my work. From better roads and public transportation I will be dedicated to ensuring that our city grows in a way that benefits all residents. This focus on enhancing the quality of life is something I want voters to remember.
I am deeply passionate about policies that foster strong, vibrant communities. I believe that by empowering local voices and encouraging active participation in decision-making, we can create neighborhoods that truly reflect the needs of our residents. I am committed to developing policies that support local business.
others with integrity, empathy and a commitment to justice. I deeply admire Eleanor Roosevelt and look up to her as a model of compassionate and courageous leadership. She was a trailblazer who dedicated her life to advocating for human rights, social justice and the empowerment of the marginalized. What stands out to me about Eleanor is her unwavering commitment to lifting up others, even when it was unpopular or challenging.

Eleanor’s ability to connect with people from all walks of life and her tireless work to promote equality and fairness are qualities I aspire to emulate. She once said, “Do what you feel in your heart to be right-for you’’ll be criticized anyways,” which reflects her fearless approach to doing what was right, regardless of the obstacles.

In my own journey, I strive to follow Eleanors example by leading with empathy, standing up for those who may not have a voice and working to create a community where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Her legacy reminds me that true leadership is not about power, but about service to others and making a lasting, positive impact.
I would highly recommend the book “Justice: What’s the Right Thing to Do?” by Michael Sandel. This book does an excellent job of exploring complex moral and political questions in a way that is both accessible and thought-provoking. Sandel delves into different theories of justice, examining how they apply to real world issues like equality, fairness and the common good.

What resonates with me most about this book is Sandel’s emphasis not the importance of community and the common good in shaping a just society. He challenges the idea that justice is purely about individual rights and instead argues that it also involves our responsibilities to one another as members of a shared community. This aligns closely with my belief that effective leadership and governance should be guided by a commitment to serving the collective well being, not just the interests of the few.

Justice encourages readers to think critically about the ethical dimensions of political decisions, and it has deeply influenced my approach to public service. It’s a book that has helped shape my understanding of what it means to create a fair and inclusive society and I believe it offers valuable insights for anyone interested in political philosophy and ethical leadership.
Integrity: An elected official must be honest and ethical, making decisions based on what is right rather than personal or partisan interests.

Empathy and Compassion: Understanding and addressing the diverse needs and concerns of constituents is crucial.

Commitment to Service: A strong dedication to public service means prioritizing the needs of the community.
Strong Communication Skills: I excel at listening to diverse viewpoints and articulating ideas clearly. This enables me to effectively engage with constituents, understand their concerns and convey information transparently.

Commitment to Integrity: I prioritize honesty and ethical behavior in all my actions. Being transparent and accountable builds trust and ensures that I make decisions based on what is best for the community rather than personal gain.

Dedication to Service: I am deeply committed to serving the community and improving the lives of its residents. My passion for public service motivates me to work tirelessly and advocate for the needs of those I represent.
Representing Constituents: It’s crucial to listen to and advocate for the needs and concerns of the community. This means being accessible, understanding divers perspectives, and making decisions that reflect the best interests of all residents.

Ensuring Accountability and Transparency: Elected officials must operate with integrity, providing clear communication about their actions and decisions. Being transparent about processes and accountable for outcomes helps build trust and ensures that public resources are used effectively.

Driving Positive Change: An elected official should work towards improving quality of life of the residents. This involves crafting and supporting policies that address critical issues, such as economic development, public safety and environmental sustainability.
I would like to leave a legacy of positive and meaningful change in our community. My goal is to be remembered for fostering inclusivity, and working tirelessly to improve the quality of life for all residents.
The first historical event that I remember was the terrorist attack on the twin towers in New York. I was a freshman in High School and it inspired me to join the military.
My very first job was as a dishwasher in high school. I kept that job for 3 years until I graduated and joined the United States Marines.
East of Eden is my favorite book because of it’s exploration of human nature and moral complexity. The book delves into themes of good and evil, free will, and the struggle for identity. The concept of “timshel” (the Hebrew word for “thou mayest”) offers a powerful reflection on the choices we make and their impact on our lives.
If I could be any fictional character it would be Spider-Man. I admire his sense of responsibility and his commitment to helping others, even when it is difficult. Spider-Man is a reminder that anyone, regardless of their background and circumstances, can make a difference in their community. His determination to do good while balancing the challenges of everyday life resonates with me, as it reflects the balance I strive to achieve in serving my community while staying connected to the people I represent.
As the General Manager of a small local business, Vice President of the Hughson Chamber of Commerce, and a Hughson Planning Commissioner, one of the struggles I’ve faced is balancing the various roles I hold within the community while ensuring that each responsibility is met with dedication and integrity.

Running a business requires constant attention to detail, problem-solving, and managing resources effectively, all while supporting employees and customers. In my role with the Chamber of Commerce, I work to promote and support local businesses, and that involves navigating the challenges of building partnerships and advocating for small businesses during tough times. As a Planning Commissioner, I’ve seen firsthand how important it is to make thoughtful decisions that shape our community’s future, and balancing the needs of growth with maintaining the character of Hughson can be a complex task.

Juggling these roles can be challenging, but it has also taught me how to prioritize, work efficiently, and keep the bigger picture in mind. These experiences have strengthened my resolve to create a thriving community, support local businesses, and make decisions that benefit the residents of Hughson. I understand the pressures that come with managing competing demands, and it’s this understanding that I will bring to the City Council — a commitment to serving our community with fairness, transparency, and empathy.

I believe financial transparency and government accountability are fundamental pillars of a thriving and trust-filled community. As a member of the Hughson City Council, I would ensure that all financial decisions and processes are made clear and accessible to the public. Transparency isn’t just about publishing numbers; it’s about making sure that residents understand where their tax dollars are going and how decisions are made.

I will advocate for more frequent and detailed financial reports, available in a format that’s easy to understand. I also believe in open lines of communication between local government and the people we serve, creating opportunities for residents to provide input before major financial decisions are made.

Government accountability means that our officials, including myself, must be held to the highest standards of integrity and responsibility. When decisions are made, they should reflect the best interests of the community, not individual or special interests. I am committed to fostering a culture of accountability, where elected officials are answerable to the people, and every action taken has a clear rationale behind it.

Ultimately, the health of our local government depends on its ability to earn and maintain the trust of the people it serves, and financial transparency and accountability are key to building that trust.
