About Fact Check by Ballotpedia

About

Fact Check by Ballotpedia seeks to prevent the repetition of false information that occurs when organizations simply report what politicians say. Since launching in October 2015, Fact Check by Ballotpedia examined hundreds of claims made by elected officials, political appointees, and political candidates at the federal, state, and local levels, and was recognized by Duke Reporters’ Lab, an affiliate of Duke University in North Carolina, as a trustworthy fact-checking source. Fact Check by Ballotpedia evaluates claims made by politicians of all backgrounds and affiliations, subjecting them to the same objective and neutral examination process. The focus is always on the claim, not the individual.
