I’m a life-long Coloradoan and I’ve loved how our state has historically provided opportunities and a cost of living that allowed families to grow and thrive. That has been corroded by high housing costs, the home I was born in was $50k when my mother bought it in the 1980s is now $1,500,000 - far out of reach of a family starting out. The main reason I’m running for Denver City Council is to fight back against the housing crisis by changing land use laws and advocating for more subsidized housing. I’ve worked as a political campaigner, policy staffer, in the private sector, and have been leading housing policy change as the former President of YIMBY Denver. I’m ready to build the coalitions to pass this policy vision, and build smaller, more affordable homes in Denver neighborhoods.
  • Housing should be affordable and abundant - we need to bring back starter homes
  • Tackling unsheltered homelessness and public drug use require the courage to lead
  • Frequent and reliable public transportation is critical to meeting our climate goals
Housing policy is one area where city council has a lot of ability to make progress. In 80% of Denver's neighborhoods, there is exclusionary zoning - which means that only single family homes can be built. We need to better utilize our limited land in Denver and allow multi-unit buildings and starter homes - like duplexes to be buiilt
