I am passionate about education. As a founder of the first high school STEM academy in east Idaho, I know what it takes to help students succeed for 21st century careers. I want to keep Idaho kids with Idaho employers and stop sending our best resource - our own children - out of state for jobs once they graduate. I have worked with Idaho employers to coordinate the skills they are seeking with the curriculum our STEM students are learning to keep Idaho graduates with Idaho employers in tech-centered jobs.
I am a solid proponent of low taxes. My many years in the financial and insurance industry, as well as serving on the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce Board, have shown me the best way to encourage business growth and encourage job creation is to keep taxes low.
