An independent candidate running for political office for the first time. A 25-year Navy veteran with a strong background in financial management and leadership. I possess a Master’s in Business Administration and Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Naval Science. Hard working, down to earth, and in touch with the worker. As an independent I will be the bridge between the good people of both parties; I will also be the check-and-balance to break our one party city hall. As the people of Norfolk's tax advocate, I will work hard for the betterment of our city and the wellbeing of Norfolkians.

  • Lower Taxes, Norfolk has some of the highest in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Improved customer service from the office of the Commissioner of the Revenue.
  • Fair and equitable assessments of real estate and other property values.
It is the office that assess the property values and in turn determining the amount of taxes that will be paid by the citizens of Norfolk. We are taxed to high and this office is one that as ability to help rein it in.
To never lose touch with the citizens they serve and never to become an elitist. Maintaining a sense humility, but also keeping ones goals for the office in mind, is very important to effectively administer this office and others like it.
To keep the interests of the people in mind while balancing the requirements for the city to run smoothly and fiscally responsible.
Other than being a paperboy at age 14, I interned as a plumber for a summer during high school.
"The Caine Mutiny" by Herman Wouk. It is a good book about toxic leadership and the ways a subordinate should handle the situation but also the fall out that could happen from good intentions.
"Sweet Caroline" da, da, da.... I bet it is stuck in your head now!
No, it is important that they understand the system that requires them to pay taxes. If the office holder actually pays the city taxes, or even better begrudgingly pays taxes, then they understand the position.
Leadership and management are important, and the ability to read the City Code of Ordinances to understand the positions authorities and responsibilities. If you have all that then the office holder can truly be the tax advocate for the people of Norfolk.
