John Adam Harkey was the Division 2 judge of the Sixteenth Circuit of Arkansas. He was elected in 2008, and re-elected on May 20, 2014.[1][2][3][4] He resigned in February 2015 for health reasons.[5]

Education

As an undergraduate, Harkey attended both Arkansas College (later renamed Lyon College) in Batesville and the University of Arkansas. He earned his J.D. at the University of Arkansas School of Law.[6]

Career

Born and raised in Independence County, Harkey was the judge for the Stone County District Court for nine years. Before that, Harkey spent 18 years as a practicing lawyer. He also spent time in the U.S. Marine Corps and the Arkansas Army National Guard and was the state judge advocate for AMVETS in Arkansas.[2][6]
