I am the CFO / Owner of several small businesses, happily married with four children. I'm Pro God, Pro Family, Pro Life, Pro 2nd Amendment and 10th Amendment, Pro Jobs and Economic Opportunity, Pro Law Enforcement and Public Safety, Pro Border Security and Ballot Integrity... I'm against high taxes and overreaching, burdensome governmental regulations, wasteful spending, and critical race theory!
  • Public Safety and Border Security are my priorities! We must secure the border from dangerous, illegal activity including human and sex trafficking, fentanyl and other drugs, and other criminal activity.
  • Economy – High Taxes (especially property taxes) and over-reaching, burdensome governmental regulations stifle economic growth. We need to reform the tax system and reduce regulations, and I will fight to do that.
  • Education – Even with Republican control, we have incomplete action with Education, for example school vouchers, state-mandated tests, improper classroom sizes, and Critical Race Theory ideology. These issues, along with promoting vocational career paths at the high school and college levels, to create a much needed labor force to attract more businesses and industry to our area, must be championed…and I will take that on!
I am personally passionate about the safety of our families, businesses, and our communities. I graduated from the Police Academy in 1999, so I have a great respect for our law enforcement officers and the rule of law. It is a disgrace that law enforcement officers have been subject to hate and disrespect in recent years with the "Defund The Police" movement, which I will stand up to and fight against! Our officers, including all our first responders, must be well-funded, well-trained, and well-equipped...and we must restore the respect that all law enforcement officers deserve!
I look up to my dad, Al Hinojosa. My dad was raised on a farm/ranch, picking cotton, growing watermelons, and breaking horses. My dad dropped out of high school in the 10th grade, but he was a man with great confidence and great ambitions, never believing that anything was impossible to achieve. As I grew up, I discovered that my dad's will came from his close relationship with God. There was never a day when my dad didn't pray for wisdom, pray for his family, and pray for others in need. My dad was the hardest working man I have ever known and he never quit in his mission to succeed in everything he sought to do. My dad's career path led him to be one of the most successful political consultants in Texas, which gave all of his children the opportunity to learn how the government works, the issues impacting everyday citizens, and the process by which people can make a difference. Although my dad passed away two years ago, I know he would be proud to see me running for office to make that difference we always prayed about being...seeing the "fruit" from the seeds he planted many years ago.
(1) I lead a normal, successful life and I am not a career politician. (2) I am the Chief Financial Officer / Owner of several small businesses, so I understand that we must create an economic environment that is fair and supportive of success for the owner and good jobs for employees. (3) I have a loving wife and 4 children (3 of whom are in public schools at each level, high school, middle school, and elementary school) and a supportive extended family. My experience with strong family values is a perspective I can bring to society, along with the experience as a parent to improve our Educational system.
The Bible. It is the greatest source for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that gives us the meaning of life and instruction on how to be a light to the world.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Texas

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
