Campaign themes

2014

King's campaign website listed the following issues:[3]

  • Education: "Elections are neither won nor lost in the eyes of Americans based on Foreign Policy. That is why I have created an entire domestic platform to combat the mismanagement of our country. We have a failed education system in our country. Out of 30 developed nations we rank 26th in Math and 21st in Science. Our top five% of students rank 23rd out of 29 developed nations. These are tremendous problems."
  • Job Creation: "As outlined in the foreign policy section on China, our trade war with China has done tremendous bad for our economy as US companies have exported their manufacturing base to China. We must bring back our manufacturing domestically which will bring back an overwhelming amount of Jobs to the country."
  • Budgetary Efficiency: "Government is at an all time spending high. In many cases of our Federal Budget, government is overpaying drastically for goods and services that can be rendered to the State for a fair price. In some cases that I have identified, such as budgets to house soldiers returning back from war, the government is paying 400% more than the premium price of housing in the neighborhoods to ensure the space for returning soldiers."
  • The Affordable Care Act : "The roll out of the Affordable Care Act was so sloppy and so full of mistakes that for just about as many people that gained health insurance for the first time, the others lost theirs. About 5 million people gained health insurance while about 5 million people lost their health insurance. California was one of the hardest hit states where nearly 1.1 million people have lost their health insurance."
  • Immigration: "Our immigration policies are sadly dated and antiquated. We must address immigration from a national security standpoint. We have an insane amount of undocumented people living in this country and that is dangerous for our national interests."
