Candidate Connection

Adam Milasincic participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on May 29, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Adam Milasincic's responses follow below.[2]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1. Investing more state resources to fully support our public school students and teachers.

2. Prioritizing flood control measures, especially involving better protections around Addicks Reservoir, to safeguard existing homes and businesses rather than catering to the out-of-control developers who've paid off local politicians.

3. Keeping Texas an inclusive and welcoming state. Extremist politicians waste all their time pandering for votes by demonizing our immigrant and LGBTQ neighbors. It's easier for career politicians to divide people than to come up with solutions on real issues like jobs and healthcare. It's time for a grown up in the room.[3][4]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

Supporting our public schools. I graduated from all public schools from kindergarten through law school, and my grandfather was a high school math teacher. Public schools made America great, and our Texas constitution--as well as basic decency--require that we keep them strong and thriving.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[4]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Adam Milasincic answered the following:

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else that best describes your political philosophy?

Les Misérables (the book)[4]
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
From about ages 11 to 17, I worked as a cashier and DJ, spinning CDs and even a few records, at a roller skating rink that my parents owned.[4]
What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?
1. Defeating the special interests who want to de-fund and destroy our public schools.

2. Getting serious about flood control and environmental protection before the next disaster strikes. 3. Expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare for all Texans.[4]

What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and the state legislature?
The legislature should be a check on the governor and vice versa. At the end of the day, the process should yield thoughtful solutions that result from serious people debating serious issues and reaching consensus solutions that work for all Texans.[4]
Are you interested in running for a different political office in the future?
No. I want to help fix our broken state legislature and then pass the baton to someone else.[4]
