Adam Schott was an at-large representative on the Lancaster School District school board in Pennsylvania. He won election to the board on November 5, 2013, and did not seek an additional term in 2017.

Schott earned his B.S. in secondary education from Penn State University and his Ed.M in education policy and management from Harvard University. Schott's professional experience includes working as the director of policy research for Research in Action. He previously worked as an executive director of Pennsylvania’s State Board of Education for two years. Between 2003 and 2009, he served in a number of senior positions in the Pennsylvania Department of Education, including special assistant to the chief of staff and director of government relations.[1]

Schott ran against Harvey Miller, Radames Melendez, Fanny Castellanos, and Paul Culbreth in the general election held on November 5, 2013. Schott won a Democratic nomination in the primary on May 21, 2013.
