I am a US Army veteran, family man, and small business owner. I was born to a teenage mother and separated from my twin brother in the social service system due to the domestic violence and substance abuse in my family. I am running for U.S. House district 12 to serve my community and give the working class people of this district representation in Washington DC.
  • I am not a career politician. I am running because career politicians like my opponent have made life harder for the working families of this city and our nation. My campaign is focused on improving educational outcomes for underserved and marginalized students, ensuring we grow upward economic mobility and prioritizing the needs and safety of American citizens first.
  • I believe that Washington isn't working for the best of the American people because we have too many career politicians that are doing the bidding of their political parties. I will always keep the people of this district first and vote for the best interest of this district before the wished of party elites.
  • When elected my fist order of business will be to establish a 12th District Community Task Force aimed at tackling the rising youth crime in this city.
I am most interested in education, the economy and community safety.
I look up to people like Thomas Sowell. I would like to follow his example of digging for and accepting the truth.
Honesty, integrity and the willingness to put the people above a party or political self interest.
I am willing to talk with and listen to people regardless of the perceived differences we have. I believe that my life experiences and my outlook on life make me the ideal candidate to represent the people of my district.
The core responsibility is to be the strongest advocate for our constituents regardless of affiliation.
I want my family to be proud of me and know that I always did what I thought was right.
Desert Storm happened when I was 12 years old and I remember watching it on television while I was in foster care.
My first job was working at Burger King when I was 16 years old. I worked there for the summer.
The Bible because I am a Christian and I believe that God's word has all the answers I need.
Superman. Come on, do I really need to explain that lol.
LL Cool J and Eminem - Murdergram Part 2
I've struggled with the trauma of being mentally and physically abused as a child.
I think that our US House is unique because the House has several powers assigned exclusively to it, including the power to initiate revenue bills, impeach federal officials, and elect the President in the case of an Electoral College tie. The House is the only branch of government that American voters have directly elected since its formation in 1789 and that is what makes the opportunity to serve such an honor.
Our biggest challenge is going to be the improvement of educational outcomes that will allow us to remain competitive on the world stage.
I am in favor of term limits on Congress and have signed the Term Limits Pledge.
Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick for his ability to work across the aisle to best serve the American people and his district.
Whenever I talk with young voters who are afraid they will never truly have the American dream of home ownership and economic security, it strengthens my resolve to run for this office.
George Carlin's routine on " Stuff"
It is both necessary and desirable if we wish to represent the needs of the people.
I think that we need to stop political witch hunts and investigate the true threats to our republic.
NC House Speaker Tim Moore, NC Senate Majority Leader Paul Newton, The Black Conservative Federation, The Log Cabin Republicans.
Education and Small Business.
I believe that not only is transparency paramount to having a good government, we should be holding our elected officials at every level accountable by being an informed and engaged electorate.

Campaign website

Ali’s campaign website stated the following:

LAW ENFORCEMENT
I will fight to ensure that our law enforcement has the resources to keep our communities safe and improve community relations.

EDUCATION
If our children can't read, they can't succeed. I will work to bring the resources needed to improve childhood literacy while defending parental choice in education.

ECONOMY
I know the importance of getting this economy growing and creating jobs. I am committed to principles and policies that will help businesses create jobs: cut taxes, reduce excessive regulations, and fully fund worker retraining programs at our community colleges.

SECURING THE BORDER
I will fight to secure the border, stop the flow of fentanyl, and support a safe third-country asylum policy.

HEALTHCARE
I will work to ensure that healthcare is accessible and affordable while fighting against high prescription drug costs.

SUPPORTING OUR VETERANS
Our region has one of the fastest growing veteran populations in the country. I am committed to caring for these veterans who have sacrificed and served our country.

TERM LIMITS
I am proud to have signed the U.S. Term Limits on Congress pledge.[2]
