Twenty years as an oil and gas Geologist with Fairfield Industries and Schlumberger Oilfield Services.Worked as an Associate teacher for Alief Independent School District where I did mentoring work with the students of the district, introducing programs like the chess tournament to inspire and motive the students of the district. Presently pursuing a Law degree to better serve the community. Community service is my passion and that is what i have been doing in my District F community in the Alief area of Houston Texas for the past twenty five years.
  • Fight for Enterprise Business Development Centers in my District F and across Houston.
  • Free Community College Tuition for low income middle class families. Dallas is already doing it, why not Houston.
  • Keep our students and the community safe in their schools and recreation areas with common sense initiatives and laws.
Flooding is an issue in Houston. A lot of families have been affected by it and it will continue until we have a solution for this. Climate change is real. Doubters of Climate change should know that as the climate gets warmer, Houston that is near the Gulf of Mexico will get more rainfall as a result of gulf waters been taken into the atmospheric cycle to form more rainfall. To better prepare for this, the Army Corps of Engineers should consider widening the Bayous and many of the residence of the 100 year flood plain areas should consider upgrading their houses to the 500 year flood plain level to avoid future disasters. The City should assist the people in their upgrades with some governmental subsidy. Partnering with FEMA to get Federal Government assistance will not be a bad idea. Lets not wait for the big one to hit before we solve this problem. Houston flooding problem has become a major issue and its the number one issue for me a Geologist and a resident of Houston.
The City Councilmen from different districts have the knowledge of the issues and the problems from the districts where they are elected. This gives them the voice and the opportunity to represent their community well. Without the City Councilmen fighting for their districts, a lot of issues that affect the people in their communities will be overlooked.
I like President Barack Obama for the way he handled himself during and after his presidency. We never heard of scandals during his presidency and he sure made America proud. He is a good role model to emulate.
Integrity, passion and empathy for the people that you are elected to serve should be the quality of any leader. If you do not posses any of these qualities, you should not run for political office.
That i have the courage to speak up when it may not be popular. That I am fair to all without partiality. That i give every project my best shoot all the time even if we dont make it in the end. That at the end of the day, God and brotherhood is more important to me than any political office.
Many historical events happened in my lifetime while i was young but the memorable one as an adult was when I attended the USA AFRICA Summit in Washington DC organized by President Barack Obama. All the African heads of States where in attendance including most of the top American business community leaders. Yes,this was a big historical moment as this has never happened before in American history.
The Bible. The God of the Bible is the cornerstone of my life. I get my strength from it.
People should be aware that the City Councilmen work with the Mayor to determine the issues that directly affects the lives of millions of people. As a result of this, it is good to choose your representatives for the city council wisely.
It is okay to have some experience in government or in politics but if you have common sense and passion for the people and issues that is driving you to serve, you will be okay. People will know it and feel your passion if you have it.
