Adrian’s inspiring and relentless pursuit to bring people together and provide a helping hand to those around him started when he was three years old, washing dishes in his grandparents restaurant on the west side of Detroit. Through the years, he has been instrumental in gathering community-minded people together to create solutions to issues facing our community like blight, lack of access to an equal education, public safety for everyone, and numerous other challenges. These uncommon alliances have resulted in action plans and cooperative bonds for the purpose of doing good work in our communities and across Michigan.A first-generation American from an Italian-immigrant family, Adrian developed foundational skills in business and hospitality while working in his family restaurant, Café Cortina. He eventually joined his mother full-time and brought the restaurant to national and global renown. Adrian continued his work in the community mentoring youth, serving senior citizens, advocating for foster care reform, and co-founding a music label intended to champion entrepreneurial independence and equity for up-and-coming artists.
  • to bridge the divide between government, community, and industry stakeholders to advocate for an equitable, inclusive, safe, and healthy Michigan.
  • change the way Congress looks at serving our communities.
  • focus on solutions that bring us together and make sure everyone has a seat at the table.
Economy

As the first 24-Hour Economy Ambassador for the city of Detroit, and as a business owner myself, I know how to create jobs, equity, and give people the opportunity to succeed. Detroit and Southeast Michigan are experiencing a renaissance, but we need to make sure every corner of our community is included.

I'll fight to ensure that working families take home more of their hard-earned pay and that businesses aren't overburdened by red-tape and regulation. There is a dramatic wealth gap between white and non-white America. We need to ensure that no matter the color of your skin or your immigration status, you have the ability to build generational wealth and invest resources into your community that your children and grandchildren can reap.

Unions built America and I'm a proud supporter of our labor movement. I've worked with organized labor to bring and retain business in the City of Detroit. In Congress, I'll vote to make sure we hold countries like China accountable for cheating the system and undercutting our workers and I’ll ensure that the ultra-wealthy and corporations pay their fair share in taxes. In this country, we are all in it together and, working together, we can again make Southeast Michigan one of best places in the country to do business and raise a family.
