Adrienne McCoy
Adrienne McCoy is a judge for Department 54 of the King County Superior Court in Washington. She assumed office on November 8, 2021. Her current term ends on January 9, 2029.
McCoy won re-election for the Department 54 judge of the King County Superior Court in Washington outright in the primary on August 6, 2024, after the primary and general election were canceled.
She was appointed to the court on October 1, 2021, by Governor Jay Inslee.
Biography
McCoy has volunteered as a mock trial coach at King's High School for over 10 years. She was a member of the Board of Directors at New Beginnings from 2006 to 2012. Additionally, McCoy was a trustee with Hilltop House from 1999 to 2002.[1]
Education
McCoy earned her B.A. from Wake Forest University and her law degree from the University of Washington.[1]
Career
Prior to serving as a judge, McCoy worked as a deputy prosecutor and senior deputy prosecutor with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. She has worked within the office's Most Dangerous Offender Project Unit, the Violent Crimes Unit, and the Domestic Violence Unit. Before she joined the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, McCoy worked with the Plymouth Housing Group in Seattle as a volunteer coordinator and community organizer. She also worked with Experiment in Self-Reliance in Winston-Salem, North Carolina as a case manager in their transitional housing program.[1]
