The United States Agency for Global Media is an independent federal agency. The agency was first established as the Broadcasting Board of Governors in 1994, before changing its name to the U.S. Agency for Global Media on August 22, 2018.[1] On March 14, 2025, President Donald Trump (R) issued an executive order that directed that several agencies, including the U.S. Agency for Global Media, be “eliminated to the maximum extent consistent with applicable law.”[2]
