Petersen ran for election to the Oregon Circuit Court, 19th Judicial District.
Primary: She was defeated in the primary on May 20, 2014, receiving 20.3 percent of the vote. She competed against Judge Jenefer S. Grant.Petersen was required to run as a write-in candidate, since she is older than 75--the mandatory retirement age for Oregon judges. 20.33 percent of the primary votes went to write-ins, though the number of those that were specifically for Petersen is not available.[1]
