Zahra ran for election to the Fullerton City Council to represent District 5 in California. Zahra won in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Zahra was also the District 10 representative on the Orange County Water District in California. Zahra was appointed by the Fullerton City Council. He assumed the office on March 7, 2018. District 10 is one of three seats appointed by the city councils of Anaheim, Fullerton, and Santa Ana.[1][2]
