Aida L. Melendez was a magistrate judge for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. She joined the court on April 7, 1997 and was reappointed to the court April 6, 2009.[1][2]

Education

Melendez received an undergraduate degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1978 and a J.D. from Potomac School of Law in 1982.[2]

Military service

While earning her undergraduate degree, Melendez was in the ROTC program. Upon graduation, she became an officer in the United States Army Reserve. Melendez retired from the military in June 2006.[2]
