|Aimee decided to run for Justice of the Peace after experiencing firsthand how the current judge makes it impossible to get a fair hearing without being represented by a lawyer. Aimee was sued by her HOA and ordered to pay $12,000, mostly for the HOA attorney's fees; she appealed the decision to a higher court and eventually was paid a $1,000 settlement -- a difference of $13,000! Aimee understands that the justice court is intended to settle small-value disputes, and that the current judge's favoring of attorneys makes the price of justice in the North Valley unnecessarily expensive. Of all the Maricopa County Justices of the Peace, the current judge is the most-overturned by the appeals court...and this is mostly due to his incorrectly forcing people to pay the other guy's attorney fees. He is also the most reprimanded by the Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct.
With your vote, Aimee will bring fairness back to the North Valley Justice Court.
(Learn more at ElectAimee.com)- Justice court is supposed to be where you go to have a dispute settled inexpensively, but the current judge does not give a fair hearing to anyone without a lawyer. Aimee will listen to you and consider your case whether you choose to hire a lawyer or not.
- You are entitled to respect, no matter the reason you appearing before the court. Because of his disrespect for defendants without lawyers, our current judge is the most-reprimanded by the Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct. Aimee will always treat you with respect.
- Of all the Maricopa County Justice Courts, the North Valley is the most overturned by the appeals court; this is because the current judge does not apply the law when awarding outrageous attorney fees. Aimee will follow the rules in awarding attorney fees and not simply rubber-stamp every request.
