Ferraro's campaign website stated the following:
“ |
Al Will Make Our City Safer Al is proud of the fact that his City Council District is now the safest area in Jacksonville. He recognized there was a problem years ago and he went to work. He became an active part in the Sheriff’s Advisory Council Meetings. He did ride alongs with law enforcement officers to understand the problems we faced and the strategies being used to address them. He became involved in the MAD Dads and worked to end the code of silence. Al is a friend to Law Enforcement and to all the communities across the county. As an active participant of the Mad Dads program, Al has witnessed the devastation that comes from violent crime. He is dedicated to doing whatever it takes to make this city safe. That’s why as a member of the City Council, Al voted against legislation aimed at reducing the Sheriff’s budget. Al also worked tirelessly to make Jacksonville safe for all our citizens. While Jacksonville used to be littered with crime attracting Internet Cafe’s, Al submitted the legislation that removed these gambling centers from our city. Al also continues to be a leader in the effort to reduce panhandling in our city as a co-sponsor of pending legislation aimed at empowering law enforcement to stop individuals involved in illegal forms of solicitation. AL WILL FIGHT TO KEEP OUR CITY SAFE. AL WILL PUT JACKSONVILLE RESIDENTS FIRST Al will seek to preserve the unique charm and character that makes Jacksonville the First Coast treasure that it is. He will never forget that it was you to whom he is accountable. With that in mind, Al will look out for the well being of Jacksonville’s citizens over lobbyists and corporate elites. Click on the photo on this page for a brief video of AL sharing his thoughts on development. AL WILL OPPOSE OVERDEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTE SMART GROWTH POLICIES Al Fought Against the Sale of JEA and he will do it again. There have been Federal Indictments related to the shady self dealing in the prior attempt to rip offJacksonville taxpayers but make no mistake, this issue is not dead. They are simply waiting to see what leadership looks like after this election. Al fought against the sale of JEA as a Council Member and he is prepared to do it again. He is accountable to you. You can trust AL because… AL WILL NEVER SUPPORT THE SALE OF JEA. Al Is a Man of Faith Al will stand for strong, Christian values and empower families and churches to exercise their God given freedoms. He will seek to love others and put them before himself. He will never shy away from doing good. And he will be bold and courageous even when it’s difficult. Al has also dedicated himself to a life of service as a fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He also cherishes his time as an active member of his local church. Al’s ultimate goals is to be a servant who demonstrates Christian love in all he does. “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” Philippians 2:3 AL WILL ALWAYS TO START EVERY DAY WITH PRAYER. AL STANDS WITH TAXPAYERS Al has been a voice in the desert when it came to prophetic warnings about wasteful spending and overtaxation in Jacksonville. He has boldly advocated for funding core functions while keeping government out of the pockets of hard working residents of Jacksonville. Al is the only current two-term city council member in Jacksonville to have never taken a raise. He voted against the Gas Tax. And Al fought against those who tried to rip off the city of Jacksonville by selling our JEA which would have resulted in higher rates for all of us. AL WILL NEVER FORGET THIS IS YOUR GOVERNMENT. The Second Amendment Al realizes that violence is a real problem in Jacksonville and Al is prepared to stand with our law enforcement to prevent this epidemic in our city. The answer to this crisis however is not to make law abiding citizens defenseless. Instead we need to support our police and prosecute bad actors when they violate the laws of the State of Florida. Al will stand up for our constitutional freedoms and the right to keep and bear arms will remain strong in Jacksonville if Al is our mayor. Parenting a Child is a Parent’s Sacred Responsibility As a father to his daughter Amanda, Al treasures his role as a parent. While parenting can be filled with joy and memories, it is not an act of leisure. It is a sacred responsibility that doesn’t come from government. Al will fight to protect parents as they work to instill values into their children which will serve them for the rest of their lives. Al believes that schools should teach math, science, art, history, etc. Leave the social engineering out of the classrooms. AL STANDS WITH PARENTS. To those of you who served… Instead… THANK YOU FOR THE SACRIFICES BY YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES. YOU ARE THE BEST OF US.[6] |
