Campaign themes

2016

Stevens' campaign website highlighted the following issues:

  • Not having local control is the number one problem facing our education system. Simply put, let our teachers teach. Too much is pushed down from the federal government.
  • AL believes that we should lessen our dependency on the federal government and create legislation that encourages a vibrant private sector of through a low-tax environment.
  • If we just follow the Constitution of the United States, it is very clear that we have the right to bear arms.
  • AL believes every entity needs to be transparent about their practices. He also believes that each state agency and/or program must provide a justificiation to the dollars they receive. In other words, AL will stand strong to ensure the tax dollars of Oklahomans are conservatively managed.
  • He is 100% Pro-Life and believes that abortion must end in Oklahoma. He is 100% for Traditional Marriage and that marriage is defined as between one man and one woman - regardless of what an out-of-state judge rules.[1]
