Campaign themes

2016

Zolli's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Schools: Why do we continue to allow our schools to fail us because of politics? We need to expand the charter schools and the virtual online public school system we have in Texas, and we need to give respect to the home school parents and kids for what they have achieved. We need to get rid of the end of course exams that deny kids with four years of good grades a graduation certificate. Security at our schools is very important, some of the grammar schools are not secure and we need to change that. Why do we force grammar school kids to walk up to 2 miles to school everyday crossing many streets without crossing guards, we must do better to protect them.

Gun rights: You have the right to purchase all the guns and ammunition you want, the myth that controlling the sale of guns will stop crime is not logical, a gun never killed anyone just like a vehicle never killed anyone or a rope never hung anyone. They are inanimate objects and do not have the capability on their own to do anything. Some people are always looking to blame the object while removing responsibility from the human.

Abortion: I stand stronger on protecting life then my opponents because I believe we need to protect all life, from the unborn to every member of our community. We need to protect life from violent crime, from drunk drivers, we need to protect life from being used as human sex slaves and child abuse. How can politicians claim to protect life when they do nothing about protecting all life after birth?

Home owners rights HOA’s are granted the power to tax and foreclose on homes if the tax is not paid, they can also tell you how to maintain your property and take you to court if you ignore their demands...these are special powers given to them by the state. Yet when an HOA violates the trust of its membership the state does nothing to help the homeowners and that is wrong. I have served on my HOA board for a total of 10 years, we have had to replace our Board twice when they violated our trust and it was not easy, so why does the state not help the members of an HOA when the HOA board violates the homeowners rights? We have consumer laws and the state will investigate any violations of Texas consumer law and the state should investigate HOA’s.

Texas border Every election cycle our Texas politicians whine about the Federal Governments refusal to secure the Texas border, it is a game they use to stir up your emotions by blaming the Democrats and Washington politicians while they also fail to secure the border. If you have any doubt the politicians use this issue to play us think of what happened on 9/11/2001, President G.W. Bush, also the former Governor of Texas, had the most opportunity ever given a POTUS to secure our Texas border for National Security reasons, did he?? No instead they forced you to get almost naked if you want to board a commercial airliner.[1]
