The Alabama Agriculture Economic Funding, Amendment 5, also known as Amendment 5, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 9, 1969, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the state of Alabama would be authorized to become indebted and issue interest-bearing general obligation bonds of $10 million in principal for the purpose of funding improvements that would promote the agricultural economy including state waterways.[1]
