The Alabama Buttahatchee River Amendment, also known as Amendment 6, was on the ballot in Alabama on September 13, 1977, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. It proposed that a corporation should be established to develop the Buttahatchee River area with regard to recreation, flood control, conservation and industrial purposes.[1]
