The Alabama Catfish Industry Amendment, also known as Amendment 5, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 8, 1988, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. It proposed to amend the constitution to allow the promotion of the catfish industry in Alabama.[1]
