The Alabama Chilton County Supernumerary System Amendment, also known as Amendment 6, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 7, 2000, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. It proposed that certain county officials would be authorized to participate in the state's retirement system for employees.[1]

The question on the ballot:
| Relating to Chilton County, proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to phase out the supernumerary system for certain election public officials and allow them to participate in the Employees' Retirement System. (Proposed by Act No. 1999-319)[2][3] |
