Alabama County Budget, Amendment 42 (1961)

The Alabama County Budget, Amendment 42, also known as Amendment 42, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 5, 1961, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the legislature would alter, fix or regulate court costs and charges in St. Clair County as well as the fees, commissions, percentages, allowances and salaries levied or received by county officials. The tax must be approved by a majority of electors.[1]
