The Alabama County Budget, Amendment 8, also known as Amendment 8, was on the ballot in Alabama on February 16, 1960, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the legislature fix, regulate and alter fees, commissions, allowances, and salaries with regard to Elmore County's judge of probate, sheriff, tax assessor and tax collector.[1]
