Alabama County Indebtedness, Amendment 17 (1965)

The labama County Indebtedness, Amendment 17, also known as Amendment 17, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 30, 1965, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that Henry County would become indebted up to $700,000 through he sale of interest-bearing general obligation bonds for the purpose of funding a county courthouse and jail. The above must be first approved by a majority of electors.[1]
