Alabama County Indebtedness, Amendment 21 (1969)

The Alabama County Indebtedness, Amendment 21, also known as Amendment 21, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 9, 1969, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that Mobile County would be authorized to become indebted up to $3 million through the issuance of bonds. One million dollars would be used to help fund a juvenile detention home and $2 million would help fund a county courthouse. The above must be first approved by a majority of electors.[1]
