The Alabama County Property Tax, Amendment 7, also known as Amendment 7, was on the ballot in Alabama on February 16, 1960, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that DeKalb County would be authorized to levy and collect a property tax of 7.5 mills on each dollar's worth of taxable property. The proceeds from the tax would be for educational purposes. The tax must be voted on by the electors and pass with a majority.[1]
