The Alabama County School Tax, Amendment 16, also known as Amendment 16, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 9, 1969, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that a school tax be levied and collected of one-half of one percent of taxable property in Etowah County, excepting the cities of Gadsden and Attalla. The above must be first approved by a majority of electors.
