The Alabama County Tax, Amendment 2, also known as Amendment 2, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 2, 1948, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed to authorize Marion County to levy and collect a special County tax not exceeding four mills on each dollar of taxable property for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, enlarging, operating, furnishing or maintaining County hospitals or other public hospitals, nonprofit hospitals and public health facilities for which federal funds have been provided.[1]
