Alabama County Tax, Amendment 8 (1961)

The Alabama County Tax, Amendment 8, also known as Amendment 8, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 5, 1961, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that Baldwin County would be authorized to levy and collect a county tax of 50 cents on each $100 worth of taxable property for educational purposes. The tax must be approved by the electors.[1]
