The Alabama Court Reappointment, Amendment 1, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Alabama on May 6, 1958, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed to re-appropriate the Court of Appeals as the Court of Criminal Appeals, whose jurisdiction will apply to criminal and quasi-criminal cases of any degree.[1]
