The Alabama Elected Officials' Retirement Amendment, also known as Amendment 2, was on the October 12, 1999, election ballot in Alabama as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. This measure proposed that elected officials in the state could participate in the state employees' retirement system.[1]
