The Alabama Farmers Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 19, 1980, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed to allow the creation of nonprofit associations financed through voluntary levies on farmers to support the promotion of peanut, dairy and cotton farmers in Alabama.[1]
