The Alabama Higher Education Bonds, Amendment 6, also known as Amendment 6, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 5, 1961, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that any debt from bonds issued by an institution of higher education would not be regarded as state indebtedness and are the sole responsibility of the institution.[1]
