The Alabama Jefferson County Bingo Amendment, also known as Amendment 5, was on the November 5, 1996, election ballot in Alabama as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed that the monetary worth of prizes awarded in bingo games sponsored by nonprofit groups in Jefferson County could not exceed an amount to be set by local law.
