Alabama Legislative Sessions, Amendment 1 (1972)

The Alabama Legislative Sessions, Amendment 1, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 7, 1972, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that legislative sessions would be held annually and limited to 30 days. During even-numbered years, sessions would be limited to 90 days. Regular sessions would commence on the first Tuesday in May. Special session would be limited to 12 days within a 45 day period.[1]
