The Alabama Local Laws Amendment, also known as Amendment 5, was on the ballot in Alabama on March 2, 1982, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed to amend the constitutional definition of general, local and private law. It also proposed to affirm the constitutional definition of eight classes of municipalities.[1]
