The Alabama Macon County Amendment, also known as Amendment 17, was on the ballot in Alabama on March 2, 1982, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed to repeal Amendment 132 to the constitution, which allowed the legislature to abolish Macon County.[1]
