Local Provisions

The Alabama Montgomery County Fire Districts Amendment, also known as Amendment 7, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 7, 1978, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. It proposed that firefighting districts could be created in Montgomery County and that fees could be collected to support these districts. It also stipulated that the county could contract with volunteer fire departments to provide fire protection services.[1]
