The Alabama Municipal District Tax, Amendment 26, also known as Amendment 26, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 9, 1969, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the city of Huntsville in Madison County would be authorized to levy and collect a district school tax of five mills on taxable property within the city. The above must be first approved by a majority of electors.[1]
