The Alabama Municipal Tax, Amendment 14, also known as Amendment 14, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 5, 1967, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the city of Fort Payne in DeKalb County would be authorized to levy and collect a special school tax of seven and one-half mills on each dollar of taxable property within the city. The revenue from the tax would be used to fund public schools. The above must be first approved by a majority of electors.[1]
