Alabama Municipal Tax, Amendment 2 (1972)

The Alabama Municipal Tax, Amendment 2, also known as Amendment 2, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 7, 1972, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the city of Mountain Brook in Jefferson County would be authorized, in addition to an ad valorem tax already levied and collected, to collect an additional one-half of one percent tax. The above must be first approved by a majority of electors.[1]
